Hypothesis:

A gose is salty and sour. A pickle is salty and sour. Does a pickle complement a gose?

Description:

Renaissance man that he is, Tom cooked up a pickle brine made with jalapenos, coriander and mustard seed then added it to the bright tank.

Alc./Vol. BU: pH:
3.8% 5 3.3

A NOTE FROM THE BREWER:

The first pH offering is a pickle brine infused gose inspired by the children’s book, “Freckle Juice.”

I made this beer to play to my love of fermented foods and quick pickling. This beer will undoubtedly be polarizing. Pickle brine made with malt vinegar, sugar, curry, peppercorns, jalapenos, and mustard seed provide a pickle edge to this standard gose. Richly aromatic and mildly acetic, this gose is a great pairing for standard summertime BBQ fare or it can be used as a base for a gin and cucumber soda or even a classic michelada or bloody mary. Not many folks will admit to drinking brine from the pickle jar, but I will! I hope your amused by the playfulness of this beer and find it qualitative too.
